On Friday 11th July 2014 in London, Latin American House (LAH) successfully hosted the workshop “Interview Skills and CV Composition”. This workshop was run in conjunction with Accenture, a global consulting company for management and technology outsourcing services.
Accenture is working with LAH as part of their corporate citizenship initiative that aims to support and work with local communities in countries where they operate. One of the principal goals being to implement actions that allow Accenture professionals to share their skills, know-how and time with the community.
The completely free workshop took place in the Community Learning Centre of the Latin American House, and was led by volunteers from Accenture Latin America and Iberia Network of professionals Bruno Azhenha, Greg Catere and Mihaela Imbroane. It was also supported with the kind collaboration of Professor Mohamed Omar, IT tutor with Camden UK Online.
During the workshop, the participants acquired tools for the creation and updating of their CVs and cover letters, the completion of application forms and advice to assist when searching for work opportunities. There were also tips on how to get the most out of job interviews.
During the next months, LAH and Accenture will be developing two new further workshops: one called “Presentation Skills and English for Business” and the other entitled “Management and Leadership”.
The Latin American House would like to thank Accenture for their help in making these workshops happen and for the boost it gives to the users of LAH.
