Claudia Paternostro is an Argentine visual artist. Her techniques include cloth stamping, wood engraving and painting on porcelain. Since 1995 she has participated in workshops on drawing and painting coordinated by Beatriz Morneau, Clara Viale and Marino Santa María, in whose “Fusion” group she took part. She has carried out live drawing studies with the model Rebeca Mendoza at the Regina Paccí school, and practiced sculpture with Claudia Aranovich. In 2013-14 she joined the clinics of Claudio Roncoli and Tulio de Sagastizabal.
Here is how Claudia describes her work:
In this work I seek to represent different meeting points.
I say “meeting” because I believe in approaching what is different, as this allows me to look more freely at what surrounds me.
In the use of colors, saturated in some places and more neutral in others; in the different forms, linear or curved; in the areas, empty in some places and full of figures in others; in the lights and shadows, I see differences approaching.
For me all these recourses represent a kind of coexistence and communion on the same canvas, in dialogue with one other.
They represent the changes presented to us daily, necessary in order to evolve.
I want my work to speak of harmony and comprehension between that which is unequal.
Truths are not absolute but different, and creativity consists in being able to see, hear and feel them.
